Why did inbetweeners end

Ever since the US remade The Office and did a pretty decent job of it, a lot of other hit British shows have been picked up for the American reboot treatment but that doesn't always end well — just look at the US version of The Inbetweeners. The MTV series was cancelled after just one series back in and now UK Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas has explained where he thinks it all went wrong for the show.

Which basically comes down to the fact the US version didn't feature any of the swearing or drinking that we loved about the E4 show. He continued to share that he thinks it's difficult to do The Inbetweeners ' style of comedy "without profanity", which is where the American remake went wrong.

Just do the credits then — the beginning credits and the end credits. Often the writers are strangely absent from comedy sets and from shows in general. Scripts just arrive and you assume they have come from somewhere but you don't really know. But Damon and Iain have always been there on set.

In a way they are the energy of the show, it's their sense of humour that has literally infected the whole group. Simon: Originally we were gutted because we loved Ben Palmer who directed the first film, he was a lovely man. Then we were worried as Iain and Damon have never directed before and we didn't want them to mess it up.

And then we were excited, we could just sniff an opportunity to get our own back because they spent six years winding us up from their safe position of being writers on set. All: No! Simon: It's never felt that professional, to be honest.

The vibe on set was always one of total and committed unprofessionalism. James: It's the most fun. When we work with other people, and I mean this in the nicest way, they are professional. As great as that is, it's still not singing songs like "wigglyblake".

Blake: We've known each other for seven years now, and it's very rare - especially for me - that you do a show that goes on for more than one season! You don't get that kind of comfortable feeling that you get on this set. The professionalism does slightly go out the window and it's like family - you're messing around with your brothers during their takes and you make them laugh.

It's very different to any other set but clearly there's something about it that comes through on screen and there's something slightly infectious about it.

I kind of feel the audience knows we are just mucking about. And we created that at the beginning. We wanted them to muck around and enjoy themselves. It does tip over the edge but in general it's good fun to watch and to be around. They know when they are supposed to be acting and allowed to muck about. Damon: It's integral to the success of the show.

They just enjoy each other's company, to the point where filming is a distraction sometimes. Blake: We were massively surprised at how popular it was over there. The popular comedy The Inbetweeners is to be axed by the show's writers because the characters are getting too old.

Legions of fans will no doubt be upset to hear that there will be no more Inbtweeners episodes written once the current series finishes - but there will be a movie and a final special to see off the schoolboys one last time.

According to The Sun , co-writer Damon Beesley said: "In our minds, we've always thought that this series, this school year, is obviously the closing of the story. A spokesperson for Channel 4 told Express. There's nothing to suggest The Inbetweeners has been cancelled - the original show hasn't been on screens for a decade. Netflix UK currently doesn't have The Inbetweeners in its back catalogue of shows but other programmes such as White Gold and Bad Education, among others are available.

Again, there's nothing to suggest it's been pulled from the platform and is simply not on the service at this time. The Inbetweeners was a hit series airing on Channel 4 between and known for its puerile and toilet humour. Before the statement was issued by Channel 4, there was much speculation about whether the videos had been taken down for being offensive. The series followed the coming-of-age antics of a quartet of teens at a British secondary school.
